Mistakes of the Voyeur
Respectable office. Morning.
DR. STENDAHL reads tabloid, headline:
"Saddam Hung".
Holds the newspaper close, squints at
picture.
DR. STENDAHL
JULIE, my dear?
JULIE
Yes Doctor?
He points at the picture. JULIE leans
in close.
DR. STENDAHL
Who is this?
JULIE
(Unsure; confused)
Saddam Hussein, Doctor.
DR takes off his glasses and looks at
her.
He begins to laugh (unsure if he's
joyous or upset).
JULIE
Can I get you something Doctor? Can I help?
DR. STENDAHL
(Pointing violently into
paper)
I did work on the man. I studied his face for months.
This is not him.
JULIE lays a hand on DR. STENDAHL's
shoulder.
JULIE
You need some coffee. They expect miracles from you.
Before the DR. can argue, JULIE takes
the paper, folds it, and places it on
the desk.
She hands the DR. a glass of water
and two white pills.
JULIE
I will get the coffee. And a new paper.
JULIE leaves.
